Central celebrate the 50th anniversary of their coming together as a congregation.
The Celebration Weekend started on the Friday morning with Friendship Centre where we shared fellowship and good food.
In the evening was Party Time where families came together for craft, activities, fun, games and food. A lovely atmosphere where everyone had a wonderful time.
Children were enjoying themselves so much they just did not want to go home!
The Festivities continued as people walked from their old churches (which closed to join together) to Central Methodist Church building which was opened in 1978 to accommodate the combined congregations.
When arriving at Central we enjoyed a Fish & Chips supper and a quiz about the year we joined together as one fellowship - 1966.
Saturday welcomed Deputy Mayor of Dudley, Cllr Dave Tyler and his wife, Deputy Mayoress, Barbara Tyler to join the celebrations, looking at the Flower Festival and Old Photos of congregations past. Here they stand beside the flower display from the children of the church and Little Fishes Toddler group. There were creative flower displays by variousgroups associated with the church, interspersed with photographs. We continued to share fellowship with refreshments and bag a bargain or two at the table top sale.
The afternoon celebrated in a tradition of the past with a fun Cricket Match at Castle High where all had lots of fun and many laughs.
Now we celebrate on Sunday with Our Superintendent Minister Revd Caroline Wickens in a traditional service at 10:45 and a non traditional all age 'fun' worship at Together in Worship with Jem Hawkins and Liz Dean
