What a tremendous day to finish off a very special and fun filled week. Today saw the final day for Holiday @ Home 2019. Cole Street hosted the day which saw our biggets number in attendance with over 40 people there throughout the day.
It began with talks, comedy and stories from John Sparry, Local Historian & Marlene Watson, Black Country Wench. There wasn't a dry eye in the room due to so much laughing going on!
Tea & Coffee was on tap all day with lots of buscuits for refreshments. The afternoon saw our own version of Dessert Island Disks hosted by Rev. Bill Anderson who interviewed Jo Yair, Ministry & Mission Co-Ordinator for the Wolverhampton & Shrewsbury District. Jo let us into her life and reminisced on how she came to faith, struggles and joys. A sample of the music she chose includes, Cathy's Clown, Three Times a Lady, and This is the air I breathe. It was so enjoyable and very interesting.
The day drew to a close with 'Posh afternoon Tea'. The caske were provided by Andrew Biggs who baked them all a day before going on holiday! A huge thank you to him for that, they were delicious and not even a crumb was left on the plates!
To finish the day, a game of Bingo. Overall the day had been so lovely and enjoyable being able to hear the local history and reminisce on days gone by.
